Poem by Russell Edson. I thought I made up amyloo. My middle name is Lou. Amy Lou Bellinger. My grandma was the only person in the world who called me Amy Lou. When I was younger I hated it because it sounded so country. After she died about 17 years ago I started using amyloo as a handle because it seemed sad that nobody said it anymore. Jean-Claude Bradley at Drexel runs an RSS club for students and faculty. Dave's wondering where to go with Scoble and his son. How old is he, 8 or 10 -- a little older? Not sure if they'd want to trek quite so far but I'll bet the little guy would like seeing Hearst Castle. It's one of those things both kids and grownups like. Nice drive, too. I entered "amyloo" into Bela's OPML Search and my blog background showed up as the page background on the search results page. Not on the first page of 10 results. To see it go here, then take the forward arrow button to see the second page, results 11-20. I put up the 65th round of my literature game podcast this afternoon. Listen. Every time I hit an episode number ending in a zero or five, I think 'How did that happen already?' or 'I don't think I ever meant to make this many.' I don't like to call them episodes, but it's another of those naming conventions that's becoming part of the fabric of podcasting, and we may be stuck with it. Do numbers ending in 5 feel almost as round to you as those ending in zero? They do to me, if it's a number under 100. Now Dewayne's blog is on the changes page again, so I can grab his URL and link to him. Hate to keep whining about this, but man, it just annoys me. See my description of a problem when a user discovers my podcast through a search within iTunes. The latest episode shown is a month old. Somehow Odeo manages to list every single one up to the minute. I take that back. I checked later in the day and I see that the podcast uploaded a few hours ago does not show up at Odeo yet. It says the feed was last checked 20 hours ago, so maybe they only grab the feed once a day? Dewayne said he wishes the changes page listed more than three hours worth of recent activity. I can still lead a rich, full life without more blogs listed, but me too. Ironically, I can't link to Dwayne because his blog just dropped off the list. ;-) I wonder if it would be possible and not a whole lot of trouble to list the last X number of changed blogs, the way the podcast listing works at audio.weblogs.com. I'm getting a macro error on my calendar this morning. I've seen this on other OPML blogs but never noticed it on mine. It says
I like the way you can put in an extra indent to simulate a blockquote tag. I think I saw somebody say that the additional indent in a blog post should automatically have a bullet. But that assumes you want to make a bulleted list. This way you're not locked into a list. And if you wanted to use the indented items in a list, but didn't feel like going to the trouble of putting in ul or ol and li tags, you could always type in a hyphen or number. The items wouldn't hang, but what the heck. These poker guys, they don't miss a trick I have an abandoned blog with a too-narrow scope. I'll fold the content into my main blog or a static page one of these days. It's made with Word Press, a popular target for comment spam. I have comments set to require approval before posting. While the blog is out there languishing, the comment approval requests are building up. 503 of them. Check out this one. The spammer tells me I have beautiful eyes and I'm smart as a whip, and really clever and amusing, as a means to get me to approve the comment. Wonder if it ever works. Probably!
