Ever feel like it's your deal in a card game when you are putting away clean silverware?

I love disparate analogies. No, it's more specific than just an analogy, it has a touch of deja vu in it, it's an analogous circumstance -- a synonymic situational life moment. No... the ideas of perception and environment need to be in there somewhere too! LOL! Wouldn't it be cool if there was one word for whatever the hell it is I'm trying to pin down? Maybe there is in some language.

A couple years ago I was standing in line with my son for movie tickets to see Seabiscuit. I must have been thinking about horseracing and the track, because suddenly it felt like I was standing in line to place a bet. I asked Aaron if I should ask at the ticket window for "Two on Seabiscuit to win" and he begged me not to be weird.

The New York Times tells about an MP3 player that some kids use as jewelry. "Necklace-like earbuds" also are mentioned. I wonder what they look like. I had in mind a few months ago that earbuds might become something more like earrings. Then I had another dumb idea about a combination necktie/lanyard.

In a conversation with Hil in my blog comments, I said I'd tell about what I use as a lanyard for my cheap little iPod wannabe.

I gotta tell a funny thing about what I use as a lanyard for my Sandisk. Maybe I'll make a new post about it tonight or tomorrow.

July 8? Oops. I'll tell now.

It's a bit of lace that I thought would look kind of funky and girlie. A co-worker must have thought it was extra girlie. I was riding down the elevator with him, a quiet shy guy. We were leaving the office and I was fumbling around with my various bags when my player with its lingerie-like attachment fell out of my purse. He bent down, picked it up, and in the process of handing it to me realized that it seemed too intimate. He stammered "Oh -- excuse me" and unloaded it quick as he could.

I think my new pop screen does what it's supposed to do. poptest.mp3. Sweetwater is a great place for audio recording stuff. They treat everybody like a highroller. Fast. Good value for the money. Can't beat that combination.

Hmmmm, gameshow Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Maria, who reads public domain works as a podcast, has my lit game listed in her blogroll -- podroll? She called it a "literary podcast gameshow." I've been stuck in the habit of calling it a literature game delivered as a podast. But I think I might like the term gameshow. (Have I ever told you about the time I got kicked out of the tryouts for The Joker's Wild? Remind me.)

Dave doesn't like to call podcasts shows. I think I know why. I shy away from the word "episode" for a single podcast for what may be the same reason -- to try and put some distance between what citizen podcasters do and what commercial broadcasters do. Trouble is we just don't have the vocabulary so we have to borrow from broadcasting sometimes.
