Passage #80 in my literature game podcast has been published.

I checked my stats. Every few weeks Odeo will catch my eye as I'm skimming referrers, and I go take a peek at my listing. Users can tag podcasts there and the tag names are listed. I can't tell you how much it hurt my feelings to see that somebody tagged mine "ho." Why would somebody do that? Probably a kid. It still took the joy out of my evening and I was in a really good mood, too. I wonder if they moderate the tags there.

When I used to use ICQ, starting in 1997 (I still have an ID# under 200,000), my name was displayed as Amy. I got hassled by what must have been boys recently reaching puberty. This all stopped rather suddenly when I changed my name to Your Mom.

Dave pointed to Sylvia Paull's post about the paucity of women at Web 2.0 and I read the suggestion in his comment there about merging conferences to achieve gender balance. I can think of some mashups that would make excellent theatre. These two groups both hold national meetings in October anyway; I don't see any reason why we shouldn't have the pleasure of watching them meet together. I'd go, just for the Regency Ball.
