Slogging through the Manila docs I wish I had a big block of time to pick this up in a hurry. Found something interesting in the docs:
I wonder if we could, if we should, how we would make that work for our beta blog community. And I wonder if the community server does, or if it could be easily modified by people who will be running hosting services to do the same thing. Sounds like just the sort of thing Donovan has been talking about for his little future cuddly congregation. ;-) Cool, the queen of whimsy is in! Hil says she'll do some illustrations for the new 1.0 site. I have some sketchy ideas, but always like to see what she comes up with too. And even though it's a community deal, we sort of have a client; Dave ought to sign off on a concept before she spends hours on a drawing.
Later: Les gave me a hint and now I think I get it. I like Hil's arrows in the almost circle. They all look so crisp and tidy. Wonder if she made them in an icon program. No, looking at them in Photoshop, they don't seem to be real icons yet. Maybe she sketches them, then magnifies to see how make them in Icon Forge or whatever. But it looks like maybe it's going to be the red arrow, anyway. I'd kind of like to see it a little darker red. I'm using a blacker, bluer OPML logo on the draft support site, and matching all the reds to it. Or can you only have 16 colors for some icons? That can't be the case any more -- can it?
It's #9E0902 or 158,9,2 -- a little more blue and green in it.
(I think Dan's probably about ready to slap me. ;-) I'm a notorious fussbudget about colors. Just ask Hil. I'm hoping to talk her into volunteering to do some illustrations for the OPML site. I'm really liking this style she's been developing of late, and using in the "technical drawings" on her Monkey See site.) |
