Hil's silly names Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Hil thinks my Web 2.0 pictures need to have names like Monopio and Housoo.

As an Aussie, you see, this comes naturally to her, since they speak baby talk down there anyway.

Off-the-wall idea about OPML and the getting-things-done crowd Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I know outliners are supposed to appeal more to idea people than to worker bees, but it still seems like there's a place for OPML in the cult of efficiency. Rex Hammond called 37 Signals a cult today and he reminded me of the possible connection again.

For one thing, there's nothing like the OPML Editor as a to-do list. It's just the best.

I'm thinking of some sort of mashup combining concepts from: the Hipster PDA no-tech organizing system using 3x5 cards (I love 3x5 cards); printing index cards from it; and the TiddlyWiki system for printing cards from a browser.

I figure you base it on the presentation tool written by a member of this community early on (who was that?). Instead of rendering an outline as a series of slides, you output it as a deck of cards, one for each item on your to-do list.

If you wanted to get commercial you could even buy up a bunch of those little Canon photo printers and bundle a "Get Your Act Together" package. (Or "Get Your Ass Organized." Or "Deal-A-List" and Richard Simmons could hawk it.)

It would be worth an extra 20 bucks if the package was made in pretty Web 2.0 pastels. ;-)
