Comment boards Hil and I have been having fun trying out our comments a la message boards, mostly talking to each other. Let me know if you'd like me to set up a message board for your comments. I love web forums, set up my first one coming up on 10 years ago this July. They're not as popular as they were before blogging got so hot, so there hasn't been a lot of development. Phorum is the first script I've used that has RSS feeds, and it's been fun seeing how that works. I haven't figured out yet if it's possible to make message board post attachments to show up as enclosures in the RSS feed. Pity if it can't happen, because it seems like a message board might make a better basis for a podcast than a blog in some circumstances. Like if the podcast was a quiz, or if it depended on a lot of discussion. Have you heard about ReGenesisTV? You know those geeks and even e-learning types who have been saying for years that gaming is the next huge thing? And non-gamers dismiss them as out of touch because they waste their lives and what could they know? It seems to be happening. I wonder when the 2.0 folks will jump into it. It'll be hard for them to see it is my guess -- especially VC types, maybe, for cultural or psychographic reasons (no guy who is a serious gamer ever sent his shirts out to the laundry). I know you know I like to generalize for sport. |
