Flash movies play within Grazr. Go to the comments board. Click on the blog post title, "Cutely warped brain cells." Seems like that might have possibilities though I can't think exactly what kind at the moment. Makes sense it would be allowed now I think about it, because of the Flash mp3 player for podcasts. And I don't know why it surprised me, really. Grazr is just HTML, not that unlike NewsRiver except that the Ajaxianess of it makes it seem different somehow. That's the point of AJAX, I guess, to resemble a desktop app more than something you think of as happening in a browser. The movie does show up in NewsRiver, but not Bloglines.

I know the word "share" is a perfectly serious grownup computer term, but I can't help myself. When I hear or read the word my brain goes straight to the kindergarten meaning and I think Care Bears and I see Share Bear and I hear a song from one of the movies. Such a mom to the core.

49-cent short stories Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Amazon Shorts are short stories and short nonfiction delivered as e-books. I don't know how new it is. I stumbled on it while browsing in Amazon. Some are serials. Back to the thrilling days of yesteryear. It would be nice to see short stories make a comeback. Thank goodness they didn't turn on Adobe's no-printing security. I hate that.

I bought one, Redneck Riviera, about a redneck and an alien who find out they have a lot in common. You get a "digital locker" that stores your purchases. I remembered when I looked in it that I'd bought a Harvard Business Review case study a while back -- years ago, I think -- and it was still in there getting all moldy. I must have been researching how to price the downloadable Safey+Health magazine articles at work. The PDF is not formatted like a book, more like a report or term paper, 8-1/2 x 11. It's optimized, less than half a meg. I asked for my story to be send in e-mail, thinking I'd be getting it as an attachment but it came right in the body of the e-mail message as text.
