' I've noticed, just in the last year or two, that you don't hear people confessing to computer ignorance or Luddite tendencies. Part of it might be that they are getting up to speed. I think a bigger part is even the ditziest bimbobs and bimbos have realized it's not acceptable anymore in a workplace to almost brag about techairheadedness they way they used to. Found this study with maps via the Rocketboom blog. Fascinating. How do there get to be isolated pockets of people who call it something way different from others in their state? It's quite a good measure of real regions that don't always obey state lines. For instance, on the map, check out the western parts of New York and Pennsylvania, showing more of a Great Lakes than an East Coast mentality. |
