Bruno Kirby died. I loved him in When Harry Met Sally. Really distinctive voice. I hadn't realized he was the straight-laced officer in Good Morning Vietnam -- you know, the one who was interested in humor but wasn't funny, and urged the Robin Williams character to play Montavanni? Kirby had leukemia but hadn't known about it for long. Get back, Loretta. Your mama's waitin' for you. All right. Got my piano tuned. Tried it out on my favorite pounding-on-the-piano Beatles songs: Get Back; and Back in the USSR. Sad that I waited so long. I hate not having enough discretionary income to do things like this that give me so much pleasure. I know, I've made my choices in working for a non-profit and getting out of PR so long ago, and I don't regret much. But I gotta tell you, that rabblerouser Jason Calacanis has gotten me thinking about making a few extra bucks blogging for one of the syndicates, or editing podcasts, or whatever for a few hours a week. It probably sounds pathetic to people who don't have to worry about money, but with a kid in college and one headed there next year, an extra $800 a month or so would have a huge positive effect on my little lifestyle. |
