I'm archiving my story over here.

Getting so much like my mom it's scary Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I've had little twinges of feeling like I am turning into my mother but never so much as a half hour ago in the grocery store, picking up all of my older son's favorite stuff: corned beef, rainbow sherbet, torilla chips and salsa, Coke. He'll be home from school later today. He gets the hug of his life along with all the comfort foods.

Zune for tours Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Had another idea about shooting podcasts. Picture this: you drive to the checkpoint of a state or national park, pay your fee, and the ranger shoots your Zune a self-guided tour.

It's the JFK assassination anniversary, isn't it? Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I haven't been consuming any news the last day or two, so I'm not completely sure. Were you alive in 1963? I remember. I was in the fourth grade. Some kids told me the news after school, and I didn't believe it. Then I got home and saw my mom sitting down watching TV. She never did that in the afternoon, so I knew it was true before she said a word.

We were all pretty much glued to the tube all weekend, just like you probably were during the two Iraq wars and 9/11.

My brother and I spend Sunday with my grandparents, on their farm 15 miles away. We heard Oswald's assassination live on the car radio as my Grandpa drove us back home.
