All at once I'm: tired of hearing about Imus; thrilled that's he's been made an example of; sorry that a forum for frank commentary by top reporters is gone; suspicious of the networks' true motives; and regretful that we won't see what might have been a high-profile reformation.

On the chance that he meant his sorries this time, he might have been able to reach a group that will never listen to NAACP or NOW. Movements need those kinds of agents -- if they're interested in effecting change more than they're interested in getting fleeting attention.
