Thinking

This solution worked, but I wasn't really happy with the results. It produces a list of feed links, but no without useful information, like the name. I want something that will create a valid blog roll and subscription list. By the way, are the two one and the same now? Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I need to really update my blog roll...maybe this weekend. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I didn't really cook much until I went to New Orleans on a business trip. The person I was traveling with had been a few times and had selected a hotel within walking distance of the French Quarter. As we drove in I fell in love the the architecture, the texture, and smells of the city. It was unlike any American city I had every been to, it just seemed to have its own personality.

After we checked in we walked to the French Quarter for dinner, where I was introduced to Jambalaya at a restaurant called Remoulade. My taste buds had never tasted anything like it before, and I was hooked. As the trip went on I was introduced to Po' Boys at Ace's Seafood, and lebanese food at a restaurant whose name I can't remember. The last morning we were there we walked to Cafe du Monde for coffee and beignets, and meandered through the French Quarter until our flight.

Once home, I tried to remember New Orleans through food. I worked for about a month to recreate the Jambalaya I had eaten there. It was technically my first trip out of the recipe books and into just tinkering in the kitchen. I have no idea how close I got to Remoulade's version, but I accumulated lots of fans. I'm craving it as I write this. Maybe in a future post I'll share my recipe.
