The Glass children are nothing but a bunch of smart asses New passage in my literature game. Play it. Hey, the enclosure worked. I was having some trouble with it two or three days ago. Well, the audio icon and link showed up, anyway; I don't see it yet in the feed. Maybe there is a delay. I wonder if saying things like "smart ass" in my podcast would cause my game not to be used in schools. I'd think if a school would assign J.D. Salinger, it would have to be willing to lighten up. You know the Terrance Mann character in "Field of Dreams," played by James Earl Jones (love that character). Well, in the book, Shoeless Joe, the reclusive author character was Salinger. I don't know the particulars about why it had to change for the movie. Maybe Salinger wouldn't allow it. He is / was protective of his privacy. I'll go find out right now if he's alive. I never remember who didn't die. He lives! He's 86. Displaying three days' worth of posts Now when you go to my blog's index page you see three days of postings, starting with the most recent. Only thing is the vertical spacing is a little off. I added three line breaks at the end of the last post of the day so the date would not nestle so tight against the previous day's post. To my eye anyway, there should be more space between the last post and the date than there is between the date and the first post of the day. Could do that with the style sheet. It's not so bad if you don't make the headlines big like I do. If you leave the head size alone, the space is about equal on either side of the date, but there really should be a little more air above the date than there is below it, to suggest the transition. It would be nice to have the "Add image" menu item under HTML open your local decorations directory. I keep having to look it up. But! it sure is handy not to have to re-upload an image if you have to change it, which I very often do, because I'm a fusser. I do like this upstreaming thing a lot. Added the OPML mug. Doh, di-doh, di-dum. Shadow doesn't work on my colored background. Put a box around it, make the bg almost white. Should the mug be a little smaller? It competes with my logo. I'll try. I think I've found a good outline buddy. He hasn't installed the editor yet. I'll poke him. I'll do my podcast. See if I can do the whole process in 30 minutes. I'm trying to streamline it so it doesn't get to be a chore. I know myself. When it starts feeling like work, I'll tire of it. |
