Video iPod unveiling Permanent link to this item in the archive.

As Kosso tries to stay calm about Apple's announcement, MSNBC reports a rumor that it will be about a video iPod. A WJS reporter (didn't catch his name) says people probaby won't want to watch full-length features on a portable device. I think I agree. After the novelty wears off it's not that much fun. But those that can be used like VCRs, I think that's a different matter.

If it's true, it must be timed to compete with the Playstation Portable for Christmas. They do know how to manufacture the buzz, don't they?

The share of my podcast listeners using iTunes is trending down. I think it's because my game doesn't show up in a search on "literature" any more. And it really should, more so than a more popular podcast that isn't necessarily about literature but contains the word "literature" in its description. I guess that's the classic problem with search. All you have to work with are words to determine relevance. Trouble is, there is no way that I'm aware of that you can change your description.

I don't know how Yahoo's new podcast portal gets its info. My podcast was already in there. It wasn't from the ipodder.org directory, because my podcast has never been in there. I've submitted it three times. I think the books node editor must have drifted off, lost interest. Volunteers! Can't fire them.
