Handprinted sign on the grocery store door: "Used book sale today." Doesn't say where so it must be here. Cool! It's just a small table in the liquor department, funny place for it. Lots of outdated computer textbooks and manuals. That's no fun. Oooh! Hardcover Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco (guy who wrote The Name of the Rose). Pristine. Nary a wrinkle or fingernail indentation on the jacket. This book has never been read. Two bucks ($22.95 in 1988). Home again, home again, riggidy-jig. Put it on the pile and smile.
