We're coming up on 2,000 American casualties in Iraq, 1859 of them since Bush announced the mission had been accomplished. It's not just a number; individual people are giving their lives -- and more and more Americans are wondering "for what?" Hil and I have been noodling around with a graphical variation on the body counters you may have seen around the web, in hopes of giving those sterile numbers more meaning. See my sidebar. Later this week I'll have a bit of javascript available if you want to use the graveyard on your blog's sidebar. The number comes from antiwar.com's text counter. I'll give you their javascript and an additional one for the images. I could provide them now, but first I want to figure out, or get some help with, how to make the updates more automatic on my end. |
