Blogosphere coverage of Share Your OPML looks overwhelmingly positive. The detracting minority seems to fall into one of two camps.

1) People who say, "It's lacking [this feature] so I don't like it." Lots of those features probably will be showing up sooner than later. One thing about Dave's stuff, you'll seldom hear about delays of several months if it's a feature he wants in there. He'll get an idea for an enhancement and you might see it in operation the next week, sometimes in a day or two. Same with serious bugs. By the time the electrons are dry on a blog post the bug may be squashed. Plus Dan's an absolute whiz. He doesn't let any grass grow under his keyboard either. The amazing thing about him is he's an avocational developer.

2) Partisans. For some people who have a personal beef with Dave, everything he says or does necessarily sucks. I'm a partisan too. I admire the guy, but I don't buy into everything he says or does. I've never been able to understand partisanship in the online world or in the office or in politics. Loyalty is a good thing, I suppose. But I always think it makes people look foolish when they take illogical stands that don't come right out and say things like the following, but amount to the same thing: "She works in my department and you don't, so she's right and you're wrong" or "I'm a Democrat, therefore it's fine that the president has an oval sex closet in the Oral Office."

Hil live-blogged TV coverage of the Tamanian miners who emerged today. Sure I think it qualifies as live-blogging. She's getting more in-depth coverage than anyone in the rest of the world can see, and is reporting on the reporting.

Isn't this paleoanthropology site nice? It's been around for three years but I haven't seen many other projects like it. Think about historical documentaries, like the kind Ken Burns makes. Except for the live action interviews, there's nothing about them that require the expense of TV. You have a nice voice and still photos or drawings getting zoomed in on or panned. Might as well do it in Flash.

I guess maybe this whole OPML thing might have legs, huh?
