Testing new build Permanent link to this item in the archive.

No more folder in mydocs in Windows. I wonder what the advantage is in that -- better compatibility with the Mac?

Instead of moving files from my docs I did the getFilesSince thing. Seemed to put things in the right place. Looks right so far, anyway.

It's just the blog files. I'll have to move my other outlines manually, I guess?

NewsRiver subscriptions seem to be lost. I'm not sure where they were stored.

Later: Craparoonie-patoonie. My comments board is toast. Why am I so reckless? Dave posted an answer to where in the database the NewsRiver data is stored, and I tried an admin trick to split the thread since it was posted as part of McD's top thread but the file permissions were wrong to let that function work and I changed the permissions and now I'm screwed! Now, see about getting my boards back...

Later still: No, maybe what I did was coincidental and unrelated. My host upgraded PHP and I had another problem with a LAMP program this morning.

What is new? I mean, besides the NewsRiver integration? I'd still like to get back to the NewsRiver CSS sometime.

1.0 site and docs Permanent link to this item in the archive.

My priority after taking care of some personal things will be getting back to the 1.0 site, rather than farting around with NewsRiver CSS. Docs are still an unclaimed responsibility, sort of. I haven't wanted to get in Lisa's way, and also have plenty to do with my limited time just on the support site that will hold the docs and some other stuff.

Here are my 1.0 site notes, which haven't been added to for several weeks. And here's the draft 1.0 site, still flat files at this point, which has been worked on a little more recently.

Dave mentioned something about a docs wiki. I was going to post something about that when I get my thoughts together. Maybe it's because I'm not that into wikis but I'm not seeing how it would be better than doing docs as rendered OPML files, unless it's an OPML wiki.

I was really excited earlier this year to hear Dan say he or somebody might work out how to render OPML files of the docs as PDFs with XSLT-FO. I think that has huge possibilities for publishing other things. I wrote something about that last week, in reference to textbooks.
