Hil helps me try to work out why a particular guy we know doesn't spoil the show when women get together. Thanks, Hil. I never thought it might be because he's an introvert, though he is as opinionated as the guys Liz described seem to be, don't you think?

You're right that it's probably more productive not to dwell on gender differences, but it is so much fun to mull over.

Thanks, Sean Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Sean Bohan the Renaissance Caveman put me in his blogroll. In all caps with an exclamation point. I do like that kind of singling out. Thanks, buddy.

My blog is me? Permanent link to this item in the archive.

If you ever doubt that blogs are personal endeavors, just check your language. When I mentioned that Sean linked to my blog I said he linked to me. Lots of bloggers say that.

Question my taste. See if I care. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Remember Eddie and the Cruisers? Classic case study for buzz or WOM adoption among students at home for the summer watching it on cable and telling their friends about it -- but that's not what I wanted to talk about.

I love the music. I know. I know. John Cafferty is a Springsteen ripoff artist. I've heard all that. I'm listening to The Dark Side right now and it's making me feel really good. I -- and probably about 20 other people on the planet -- also really like the sequel, and its music, but especially the plot. The sequel story was included in the original book.

Jeneane and others are talking about Mardarin Meg's death. I didn't know her, but I've blessed her a hundred times for figuring out and sharing cool CSS tricks that I use every day. Very sad, and a little mysterious.

It sounds like she may have taken her own life. I know a little about depression. I'm a high-functioning dysthymic myself with all kinds of interesting and creative learning disabilities I wouldn't trade for King Solomon's mines.

But I curse my genes for passing themselves along to my older son. We almost lost him four years ago after a feeble attempt and one I-mean-it go at it , which is why I have been so reluctant to see him move out on his own. It doesn't seem that long ago that I had contraband locked up and had to enforce a no-closed-doors rule. It was like he was a 5-month-old baby again, and I had to be alert second by second lest he roll off the changing table. He's really been fine for a good while now. Thank God and friends and chemicals, some of us get better.
