You can crop an image with CSS. I did not know that.

I've been haunting CSS reference pages trying to solve a problem with Firefox putting in a lot of extra vertical spacing. I appreciate that CSS gives me more freedom to place things where I want, and to give HTML a little boost over typewriter spacing like we had before CSS. That doesn't mean I'm a fanatic like some people. Used to work with a guy who would, just on principle, bang his head on the desk for hours to find a way to avoid using a table. Mention A List Apart and he'd get this dreamy look in his eyes. I'll throw up my hands and use a table at the first sign of frustration. Move on. And there's so much I don't know, I don't even like to think about it.

There was talk yesterday on Cameron Moll's blog about fixed page widths at 1024 minus 50 or 60. I don't think we're ready for that. I know I won't be doing it anytime soon at work where my boss still rezzes at 800x600. That would be a bad idea for Amy.

Maybe the Zune's wireless transfer capability has some utility for podcasting. At meetings or in classes? Especially if the feature is added to the iPod eventually, to take away the point of differentiation.
