Reservation gambling boom may be over The tribe in my hometown is laying off employees. Two chat events tomorrow -- Wednesday -- for the Office 2.0 Podcast Jam Tara Hunt will do a Q&A in the chat room at 5 p.m. Pacific. She'll be at the physical conference, so she can report on the tone and playas after the first day's sessions are over. I don't know Tara, but from reading her blog, I get a feeling the girl can dish, so I'm looking forward to asking her who's huddled with whom and all that kinda stuff. Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. Pacfic, Elisa Camahort will do sort of a back channel/live chatblogging thing during Esther Dyson's talk at the conference. I'm taking a vacation day tomorrow, so maybe I'll see you in chat. Duh. Late to the realization party. I'm getting interested in widgets. It just occurred to me that a widget made to fit in a blog's sidebar, or into one column of a start page, is just about the right size for use as a mobile application. I wonder if I have the background to learn Lazlo... I guess we'll see. Every conference needs an OPML reading list like the one we did for the Office 2.0 Podcast Jam. Not just for conferences, but conferences are a natural. The web is getting mainstreamier and mainstreamier I was busy at work yesterday and didn't keep track of news of the tech world during business hours, so I learned of the confirmation of the Google-YouTube deal on the way home on All Things Considered. Then, the local NBC affiliate teased a story about it in a local news promo at the end of Studio 60. |
