I was pretty sure that when Jeff Jarvis came out and explained why he does not believe there should be such a thing as a word-of-mouth marketing association, his reasons would map to my tirades against it. They do. Nice to hear somebody with some oomph singing it. I'd be curious to know how Doc Searls weighs in on this matter, since he's a reformed PR person like me. David Weinberger thinks there's a place for PR in the blogosphere. The Cluetrain guys' opinions don't always clock in together, do they? Studio 60 will live to see its first birthday I hate to be such a culture sponge, always taking the social environment so personally, but I gotta tell you, the combination of the election news, and getting the word that Studio 60 will enjoy a full season makes me feel better about my world. Dave mentioned the election caused a major reset. I feel that too, but I think it's even more than that. When you restart your computer or clear the caches, it's merely satisfied to be able to go about its business again without a lot of stray gunk in its way. It's neutral again. The election results are more like a fresh start with the extra dimension of hope. Flipping through the Washington Post slideshow representing yesterday's news made me feel happy. Averaged out, the mood shown in the faces is fresh hope. It's like springtime. 6!!
