Chris Matthews is saying on MSNBC that it's a move to take the buzz away from Obama, and that it shows fear on the campaign planners' part. I know it's simply not done this way, but wouldn't it be a better idea for Hillary and Obama to join forces, announce they are a ticket, and start planning what they'll do for the country? Just assume they'll get the nomination and dare all comers. Save all that money and time fighting against each other. I've even heard pundits say it's possible they could knock each other out of the race, getting in so early. If they wanted to introduce some element of drama and keep a spirit of competition, they could say they haven't decided yet which one of them would become the candidate and which would be the running mate. Was I really the first to blog about? Technorati's record of links to hillaryclinton.com. Recent blog posts mentioning Hillary or "Hillary Clinton" (as opposed to linking to the campaign site) aren't showing up yet on Technorati. To be fair, I don't suppose I really have the right to cite Technorati in a brag when I diss it for not reporting other things properly. But isn't bragging a little like the knife fight in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid? No rules. |
