It's been an intention of the universe this week to push me in this direction, so I've paid attention and am noting it in my log 

Me and little guy are watching First Contact. First Zephram Cochrane intruded on me, then I heard Magic Carpet Ride, then remembered I still had the movie on VHS. When I started it, Aaron said "It's on tape? Hardcore!"

Forgot how much I liked it. It's got everything: The Defiant ("Tough little ship"), The Borg, Deanna getting drunk, a time warp, Alfre Woodward ("It's my first ray gun"), Barkley's awe of Cochrane and his discomfort with the idea of becoming a legend, the weird Borg seductress.

I think I'll watch it anyway! 

I thought the review on Fresh Air sounded like "State Within" might be something I'd like, so I think I'll follow my better instincts instead of trusting USA Today's opinion of BBC drama.
