Please no cheesy 24 ending, but... 

They're working up to something by weaving in the terrorist thread on The Sopranos. They could use it to end the series with the biggest bang of all -- or Tony could play it into a cruel creative way of getting Chris out of the picture. Nah, probably not. Who knows. Not me, not anybody: they've got us right where they want us, nervous, anxious about what might be around every corner.

And there aren't that many corners left.

Blasphemous musing 

I thought I heard on a news show over the weekend that the president's approval rating had dipped to 22%, worse than Nixon's, then I saw another report that it's 27%. Maybe there's more than one measure, or I heard it wrong. Anyway it made me think there's only one way for Bush to save his legacy -- a new attack on American soil. You gotta wonder if he might pray for that. I imagine it might go something like, "Lord, look buddy, you know I don't want a bunch more people to die -- you do know that, right? But if you could just work it out so we have some little attack here round about primary time next year. Somethin' showy, but not devastating. Make the numbers come out even by saving some lives in a disaster someplace. You get the general idea, you're good at working out details like that. Thanks, man. You're the best."

You suppose? I scared myself by writing that, almost like I was putting a wish out into the universe that might not be interpreted as fiction. Almost took it down twice, and I may still.
