Richard from Dell's blogger outreach program stopped by my chatbox comments to blurt a link to a followup on the issue involving the blusterful lawyer I mentioned yesterday. It shows they're really trying when the "we goofed" statement comes so quick, and on the weekend, too. That's pretty impressive. I wonder how the blogger initiative fits into the Dell org chart. I'd think it must be somewhere in marketing? Which probably doesn't give it a lot of clout across department and business unit lines. Of course they will never please all the bloggers all the time, not even if the effort was positioned in the company the way John Edwards wants to place a Katrina adviser. Paraphrasing from memory because I'm a lazy blogger who won't take the trouble to research things properly, Edwards wants a Katrina point person who must show up in the Oval Office every day and tell, not what's being planned, but specific details of what was done yesterday to make things better in New Orleans and environs. Now there might be a shot at pleasing the bulk of this mocking lot if Lionel the Blog Czar posted this notice to the Direct2Dell blog Now we're getting somewhere I am pleased to announce that the company has authorized our blogger group to confiscate all copies of the book, Winning Through Intimidation, from the bookshelves of corporate attorneys. We are further permitted the exciting leeway to "take such actions as may be necessary to decrease the likelihood of appearing foolish to the online world." Awesome. First matter at hand: take Tracy to the woodshed. Hoping to have a big crowd of employees and bloggers there tomorrow at lunchtime. I'm seeing about getting a band! See you then! |
