A Time magazine poll reveals that 62% of Democrats want Hillary to name Barack as her VP, while 51% would like to see an Obama-Clinton ticket.

Did you see Bradley Whitford going wild at the last Dem debate when the question was posed? The West Wing star is a Clinton supporter. He was just a summary, really the whole crowd erupted.

What would prevent it from happening -- either way? Pride, I think. And yes, I'm familiar with the Kennedy-Johnson case, their animosity that was buried for the good of the party. Don't you think presidential politics has become more personal and ego-driven than it was 48 years ago?

Just guessing, but I'm imagining Hillary would consider the number two spot beneath her (plus Bill would have zero status or access as second lad). And I'd like to think Barack may be reasoning "If she wouldn't stoop to become my VP I couldn't bring myself to become hers."

Sound naive? Politics are rough and tough, strange bedfellows and all that? Well, the candidates are people, as far I can tell.
