Matthews tamps down Wright marathon, good for him Wow, Chris Matthews was bringing back reality last night on Hardball. Sounds like he's getting sick of the games. Excellent. Couple different times he suggested the media is keeping the Rev. Wright story alive, once heading off a guest's irrelevant veer in that direction. And he wondered out loud about the motivations of Republicans like Pat Buchanan as they praise Hillary. Bob Shrum on Morning Joe continued on the theme today, bringing Scarborough into the group. (I've thought for a while that Scarborough became MSNBC's designated Hillary booster following complaints from the campaign that the cable net was in the tank for Obama.) I think Matthews even said the media 'has to" create the illusion the race is more even than it is. Hope he carries on and isn't stifled. Keep it up Chris. My admiration of you faltered some in recent weeks, hearing your opinions about how voters like political fights, I'm not so sure we do -- I know you do. Last night was a redemption. Do it more. Get indignant. Lead the way. |
