So my QuickTime plug-in for IE stopped working and I go to the apple site to grab the newest version to try a reinstall. The only halfway prominent link on the page is the "QuickTime 7.1 with iTunes 6" bundle. What the hell is that? It feels like the crap Real Audio used to pull, and everyone, especially those who have done tech support or IT, hates them now. It took 7 years, but Real actually cleaned up their act and now you can easily get the free version without having to hunt for links. Don't tell me Real Audio is the most trustworthy company in this space! So where do I get the free unbundled QuickTime now?
Look, here is qucktime unbundled for the mac. ![]()
And here, finally, is an older (7.04) version of qucktime for windows. ![]()
