Somehow I got it into my head that the map-a-domain feature in the OPML editor actually would give my weblog a real URL, but after rereading the docs I'm not so sure. It looks like it just allows you to render an OPML file like the docs directory. So instead of messing with DNS and so for the new domain name I bought I'm going to fire up VMWare and try and set up a local version of the OPML editor/server to monkey around with. I happen to have some extra hardware lying around so if I can get it worked out maybe I will set up my own server.
I'm going to use Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition for the server and will test a clean install of the OPML editor on my 32 bit version of Windows XP. I'm hoping I can figure out how to host multiple domains from one instance of frontier and maybe down the road come up with a nice web based admin page for adding new domains.
I still want a LAMP version of frontier but since I really don't have time to contribute much myself I realize this kind of a request is a little unfair.
