Monday, Bloody Monday I'm not a big Monday hater. Mondays are usually just another day for me. Today, however, is a bad Monday. Came into the office this morning to find out that 2 of our longest employees have been stealing money from us for the last 5 years or so. We're just starting our investigation so we're not sure how long they've been filtering money their way. The loss of the money is important, obviously, but it is the damage done to our sphere of trust that hurts the most. You like to think that most people have a strong enough sense of pride and responsibility to trust them enough to watch over your books and finances, but now that thought is gone. The feeling of betrayal is such a strong emotion. I think I'll just head home soon and try to zone out and get some work done. Human nature sure can suck sometimes. |
