Check out the OPML Search Engine at 'http://www.opmlsearch.com' This is an early version of a search engine that exclusively maintains and searches OPML files. It also allows you to restrict your search to finding RSS, podcasts or other OPML links within the corpus of OPML files searched. You should be able to find much of the OPML you created using the OPML Editor. If you can't find it, you can add the URL to it or any other OPML file (for example your Bloglines subscription list) to the search pool. This will enable you to search the OPML at the site in a short period of time. This project is very much a 'work in progress' - I am very interested in incorporating your feedback as this tool evolves- please send me email if you find good uses for the tool, or have insight into how it can be made more useful for you or the community in general. Assuming that OPML is the enabler of really simple knowledge sharing - one would imagine that along with creation and contribution, searching for knowledge created in this format would be the next step in the value chain. The role a search engine would play is to enable one to traverse and reconstruct loosely linked knowledge structures from any point in a knowledge chain. Comments? |
