They are All Pitchers To Felix Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I didn't get to see Felix Hernandez's most recent start on Saturday being in Missouri. Then when I turned on Baseball Tonight the segment on him was just ending. Then I hung around for SportsCenter to get to the game and they didn't mention Felix once! Yes Sexson hit two homers but please, Mariner wins at this point are meaningless. Felix is the future of the team and I'd like to hear about him. Anyway, Lookout Landing has a good writeup of the game and more analysis of Felix's amazing stats:

It's not just that Felix is missing a bunch of bats - it's that, on the off chance that a hitter does make contact, he's not really doing himself any favors. Felix has only allowed 16 hits in 29 innings this year, but what's more amazing is that all 16 hits have been singles, many of the "seeing eye" variety. His line against this year: .157/.196/.157. NL pitchers at the plate: .149/.163/.190. Felix has essentially turned opposing lineups into nine Tim Hudsons. At his current rate of recording an out in 80.4% of all plate appearances, Felix's odds of throwing a perfect game, assuming 33 starts per year, are one per 11 seasons. Bear in mind that there have only been 17 perfect games in the history of baseball.

Please, please, please stay heathy! Felix has his next start at home on Friday night. John, I think we have to do a live Mostly Mariners from there don't you?

Where to Start? Permanent link to this item in the archive.

I pulled my RSS feeds a few times (very slowly) last week and now I have over 2500 posts to wade through. I've already flagged some links to blog about and I'm sure I'll have more. Also I need to talk about a few games that we played over vacation in particular Hecatomb. Man, another CCG? Maybe I won't be able to get anyone to play it with me - but I kind of think I will. I'm pretty sure Brian is going to like it. I'm not sure when the posts will come as I have to get out from under at work and it Shari's birthday. We already had a nice breakfast that included a banana milkshake AND chocolate cake. More food to come I'm sure.
