elliptical . . . OPML blog

context - here are the blogs that I currently "own" and post content to, (or have at least once or twice) :

I'm thinking about distributing posts across more of these blog-domains, but here are my problems.

  • My current main blog (elliptical...) doesn't have a real uniting theme behind it, so determining where to put what kinds of posts would be a partially an arbitrary decision, unlike someone like Dave, who has specific issues he discusses that fit into certain domains of his writing (davetravel, opml, &ct.). For example I could put Dave-like posting (short pointer posts to cool posts I see) here because the platform lends itself to that format, I could put political stuff I want to post about at the dabu site (but for no real reason) and say maybe RSS/OPML/format stuff at the wordpress.com site. As far as it goes, that would work fine. I could also find a place to put work-related stuff (which might be nice to have).
  •
  • Do I produce enough content to support multiple locations?
  •  I dunno, maybe I could....

  • Do I have enough readers to make it worthwhile?
  •  Or more to the point, do I want those few readers to have to chase all over the internet to find what I've written. Would they follow?

I like the idea of trying other blogging platforms, but realistically it's not much of a trial if'n I don't actually blog there. OTOH, putting content that I care about somewhere that's merely a trial doesn't make a lot of sense either.

Recently not having much to say here, I'm going to play around with putting my food-log (flog?) here to try to track my weight-loss efforts/

I'm under no illusion that anyone will want to read this, but maybe itll keep me honest ;->
