It's almost there for me, thanks to a fix from Cori, but I can't edit and save as it should. Tomorrow and tomorrow... Sunday, November 20, 2005Long time coming No posts here for a couple of months. Busy editing my history channel show. One of those times that I think about quitting every day for weeks and then somehow it's done. Had to lock the show on two days notice. Now the OMF has gone to the audio mix, tomorrow we start uprezzing (yeah that's the verb, for reloading at highest resolution, something I thought I'd left behind for finishing at full res from the start, but general lack of discipline in these productions and cheaping out on storage has revived the old offline online process). Monday, October 17, 2005Monday, September 05, 2005Long Weekend Up all night Wednesday finishing my show. On the road to Maine by noon Thursday. Offline all weekend. Enjoying a break. On the road again tomorrow. Saturday, August 27, 2005Three scant days Away from finishing my current show. Uprezzing completed (from 20:1 to 2:1 compression), mix on Monday Tuesday, output to digibeta Wednesday, closed captioning and delivery by Friday. Apple Forever Dammit! How'd we know it would work out this way? Screams of outrage, disappointment and recrimination, curses at Steve Jobs (who it was "cool" to meet just weeks ago) until Dave finally learns a few new tricks (as we have all had to do with OPML) and admits he likes his new iBook. Life ain't perfect in Mac land (and I'm sure Dave attracts all the complainers) but having no viruses and a sweet operating system count for something. Glad you Joined us, big guy. Now let's make the Mac OPML editor sing... Oh, and when he writes of brain farts with the control key, I know just how he feels. I switch between Avid editing on XP and on a Mac all the time. Control and Command (Apple) keys I use all the time. And it is a pain. Can't XP let me switch them? Sunday, August 21, 2005Late night rain by the lake And I'm just hacking. So I've paid for my new PowerBook (sweet) and I'm digging Tiger. Does this add to the OPML effort? If it keeps me inspired, yes. |
