A stream of thoughtsciousness
My name is Donovan Watts. I am the Founder of Getting Sites Built, a web design agency.. we plan, design and build websites. Donovan's thoughtStream is my weblog. For kicks, I hoop. ![]()

MODx is an open source project CMS. ooooohhh boy. this looks pretty good. yacms for me to play with! ![]()
ma.gnolia.com is another bookmark sharing site. ![]()
cosmicdread. cool name and check it out... the kubrick theme. ![]()
l.m. is cooking up a haloscan comment thing for opml editor. ![]()
falbum is just the ticket. lori uploads her pictures to flickr and she wants to put those pictures on her site but the flickr badge leads people away from her site, over to flickr whenever they click on an image. well, falbum apparantely keeps all the photos and links on your own site. perfect. i'll be installing this plugin straight away. ![]()
i'm listening to strangeways by the smiths, perhaps the greatest album of my time, in my mind. ![]()
"i shall remember our drunken speed bowling forever." vann ![]()
platinum looks like a well done k2 wordpress theme adaptation. ![]()
looks like mr. curry is an opml blogger. no surprise. ![]()
javajini asks the same question i've been asking about opml editor updates for months now: "what changed in this update?" ![]()
also, javajini should consider using the OPML coffee mug that is on my thoughtStream site since it doesn't have that ugly white background. ![]()
doc searls points me to the dumpster.. a portrait of romantic breakups collected from blogs in 2005. Gee, i wonder if my breakup in march of last year made it? ![]()
jason: "Most of the time you spend is wasted time on things that just don't matter. If you can cut out the work and thinking that just doesn't matter you'll achieve productivity you've never imagined. It's there if you just don't pay attention to the things that don't matter." ![]()
what happened to http://jeru.scripting.com/ ![]()
why does opml editor put a ";" at the end of the line like the line above when I didn't put it there? something to do with ending it with a URL i suppose. ![]()
i love the song frontier pshychiatrist by the avalanches. ![]()
can i create a tool for opml editor that doesn't really have any geeky programming elements? for instance, what if i created a theme.tool and it somehow was an interface to one of my themes? by interface, i mean kinda like the community submenus that ask you for information like your blog name and copyright info.
have you seen my puppet? i just love the puppet picture that lori gave me for my stickam portrait. i'm not a real puppeteer but i play one in my thoughtStream. ![]()
loaded up podcastmonkey. haven't used it yet but the interface looks drop dead simple and clean. and i certainly enjoy using an application named podcastmonkey. podcastmonkey. it's the podcasting tool for monkeys. i guess. or it's a virtual monkey that helps you podcast. either way, i aim to throw my thoughtStreams at it and see how well it handles the affair. if all goes well, i'll enter the cage, hoping to gain it's trust, not only in me but in all of humankind. ![]()
my oh my, as i continue to experiment with all these neat distractions on the web, my site is becoming cluttered. such is the nature of the beast i suppose. ![]()
one thing i really want to add to my themes is a little something i like to call "shmarts" or "smarts" for the verbiagally challenged. the k2 wordpress theme has "shmarts". for instance, if you drop in one of the supported plugins, like the flickr plugin, and then activate and configure it with your ID, your site sidebar will automatically display your flickr badge. in essence, the code sits idly by, just waiting for the opportune time to blossom. ![]()
that's what i want to do with the thoughtStream theme. i want to include some code in it that does the same thing for flickr perhaps. once you enter your flickr ID, the flickr badge appears in your sidebar. something like that. sure would be nice if i knew how to do that kind of thing. ![]()
"Dave is hot but Donovan is not"
btw, if "petercook" is hot then user.html.glossary is working for me.
ok, it's not working i give up. where is the glossary? i'll add this to the FAQs section of my instant outline.
i like the term idea management and publishing that les uses to describe his use of the opml editor. ![]()
