I invite you to listen to thoughtStream 13 wherein I talk out loud about the posts I entered here over the course of the day. ![]()
This is some video of me hooping in the barn tonight. It's dark but that's how I like it.
get your motor runnin'... you know a podcast's comin' and a little 30 second treat as well. ![]()
the official campfire audio word is that a little beep can now be heard when someone says something new. there you go. my first wish answered. ![]()
houston is hot tonight. iggy pop ![]()
i use two news readers. i use bloglines to read most of my feeds. this is a manual process and i like it that way. i decide when to distract myself. i also use netnewswire. in netnewswire, i import any subscriptions that i add to bloglines. as well, i also have a folder i call the Dashboard. it has various feeds for ego surfing, basecamp notifications, and a few other totally personal subscriptions. i have those set to refresh every hour. that way, i use bloglines to catch up on most things and trust that if anything, um, important comes along that an hour at most will have passed before i notice it. ![]()
another idea: i like having Today's outline in the same area on my screen at all times so it's a no brainer when i want to capture a thought. still though, it takes up room. would be nice if i could easily pull up the window with a hotkey and have it go away when i'm not typing in it. ![]()
an idea: type my notes into an outline. every time i save that outline, the New Entries get pushed to a campfire chat room. hmmm. i wonder if there is going to be a campfire API that would allow my opml editor to talk to campfire the way my opml editor can talk to wordpress. ![]()
thoughtStreaming for my client projects ![]()
thoughtStreaming has been so successful for me here that i'm going to make a concerted effort to put this practice into place for the client projects i'm working on. you can see an example of this process in my earlier post today whereby i added a podcast link to the law and disorder site.
that was a public thoughtStream on that topic but i think i'm going to keep the other outlines private. no need to broadcast the work i'm performing for a client. but i can still use the power of opml editor to capture my thoughts as i work on a project.
my clients could install opml editor and then subscribe to a private instant outline. yeah, and my skin is black metallic. in other words, that'll be the day.
looks like campfire chatrooms can now include audio. just need to figure out how to make it play "She came in through the bathroom window" :-)

neat! another visitor to the thoughtStreams campfire. derrick says.. ![]()
Hello just saw a post about this on your website and thought I'd swing by and have a look. I really like what your doing with thoughtstreams. I just found the site randomly and downloaded the podcasts 9 and 10 last week as I had a long drive ahead of me and have been following along since.
derrick podcasts: sundream radio. i like the name. will check it out. derrick, of course it's ok for you to link to my site.
law and disorder, one of my clients, is now podcasting and wants a podcast button on the site. here i go...
first, since it's a feedburner feed, let's see what they have to say.
well, that didn't really help. i gues i'll just pop a cool podcast icon at the top and link it to the rss feed. nice and simple.
maybe this iTunes Link Maker is what i need. nope. not working for me. besides, they aren't listed in the podcast directory yet.
final result...
update: derrick has a neat little Subscribe in iTunes button. i want that.
chatting at the thoughtStreams campfire with david wilkinson. ![]()
cool. if i'm viewing a tab in firefox other than my campfire and someone leaves a post, a number will appear in front of the tab name. for instance, (1) Campfire: thoughtStreams. ![]()
skyping and hanging out at the campfire with lori right now. ![]()
just had a nice campfire chat with dean. he wants to output the opml into nice and easy standard formats like word or pdf so that he can share the results of his outlines with the rest of the world. ![]()
dandy! and you? ![]()
call me crazy but i'm signing up for the basic campfire plan for $12/month. that will allow 10 chatters at once unlike the anemic four chatter limit i have now. done! let's chat it up. ![]()
subscribed to rev tim's instant outline. ![]()
hmmmm tom morris has a swicki search engine for himself. i like it. ![]()
subscribed to cristian conti's instant outline. ![]()
short videos worth watching...
it's pretty awesome when it works
i've got the Lisa Williams in my thoughtStreams chat room right now but I can't seem to get her attention. I tell you... this chat room thing is tricky! ![]()
