looks like a good time to stop blogging i guess. maybe all of our virtual selves should take a break and when your itchy blogging finger starts to twitch, just do something else.
It takes three days to announce something as exciting as the completion of the final instructions for installing the OPML Editor Community Server on Mac OS X. In any event, it's done!
Yeah! Sorry I couldn't help more but I tried in the beginning to install it on my Mac but then got pretty busy with work and waiting for others to try it as well.Huge thanks to you Mac users who did the dirty work, especially Gary and Ken. Thanks for hanging in there with me, guys.
Now, I just need to circle back with Dave and see how he wants to proceed on integrating the necessary scripts and modifying the HOWTO. [Dan MacTough's OPML blog] |
MarsEdit 1.1.2: bug fixes.
MarsEdit 1.1.2 has been released!
This release includes a new backup feature: before sending a post to the server, a plain text version of the post is written to disk. From time to time we’ve seen a server report that all is well—when really the server lost the post. This gives you a way to get back your work in case the server reports, wrongly, that all is well.
Other changes include bug fixes, especially for Blogger and Blosxom weblogs.
See What’s New in MarsEdit 1.1.2 for more details. You can download the update from the MarsEdit home page. By Brent Simmons. [MarsEdit] ![]()
in the process of converting coral reef report from a radio userland site into a wordpress site. ![]()
hmm. so far no good. changing to an 800x600 resolution for the new user called 'screencast' makes the windows on my default user 'dwatts' move and shrink. and more importantly, snapz pro is asking for a registration number. can i just enter the same one i've been using? if i need a new license for each new user then i'll have to figure something else out. ![]()
i think what i'll do for the opml editor screencasts is create a new user on my laptop solely for the purpose of screencasting opml things. ![]()
i've been taking notes on screencasting. here's a good tip from the snapz pro manual ![]()
For most onscreen activity, the way to get the smallest movies is to set your display's color depth to thousands of colors, record using a fixed camera, and then use the Graphics (Apple Graphics) compressor to save the movie.
jesse says the editor is like a chat client. interesting... ![]()
somebody somewhere (opml newbies or support?) asked something that just clicked for me. would be nice to edit newsriver subscriptions in outline form, not in a web browser. honestly, i'm kind of bummed when yet another piece of the editor moves into web space. i like outlines. i'd rather just delete an entry from my subscriptions outline than have to click on a checkbox in a web window and then click on the delete button. i'm fairly certain i can just suf to that outline and do what i want but perhaps it could be easier to get to? ![]()
Women Rising IV: International Changemakers - Women as Religious Activists (encore edition).
Women are gaining influence as leaders throughout the world, fighting for peace, justice, the environment and civil society. In this program we profile three courageous women struggling with religious issues.
Elana Rozenman is co-director of the Women's Interfaith Encounter in the Middle East. Irshad Manji is a Canadian Muslim lesbian and feminist who wants a reformation of her own faith. And Regina O'Callahan helped found the Northern Ireland Interfaith Forum to support religious diversity in her country.
