regarding screencasts for opml editor ![]()
Dan and Amy both recommended that Donovan's map-a-domain screencast include not just the posting to and viewing of the HTML ouput of an OPML file in directory format, but also the setup step -- mapping the domain.
i totally agree that it needs the first part to make the connection showing how this gets set up in the first place. i heard back from the snapz pro people and have a new user setup on my mac just for screencasts. i've been studying how others have done screencasts, figuring out what i like and don't like and i'm very near to trying a new, more thought out, screencast.
now i'm going to go the other direction and control my nokia 770 from my mac using chicken of the vnc. ![]()
just discovered how well vnc works. so now that i can control my mac as if i were sitting right in front of it, why am i still indoors? ![]()
i can't seem to post from my nokia 770 when reading the newsRiver feeds. it seems like it is trying to post to 127.0.0.1 when it should be posting to 192.168.x.x in other words. ![]()
thanks to dan mactough's most excellent opml renderer plugin for wordpress, i am able to offer up outline based web pages on coral reef report like this Coral Reef Directory and a list of Favorite Dive Spots. by the way, i used to have this same functionality in Radio UserLand by way of the most excellent activeRenderer tool by Marc Barrot. However, I recently moved the report from Radio to WordPress for a number of reasons. ![]()
created a new reading list called coral reef

reading my river of news on my nokia 770 ![]()
this is really cool. i turned on remote access in the newsRiver preferences in the opml editor and now i can read my feeds from anywhere wi-fi is available using my nokia 770. light bulbs continue to turn on in my head.
