outlines are outta this world Permanent link to this item in the archive.

just for kicks i added today's outline to my top level directory. i wonder if this can be automated somehow? well, of course it can. dave's scripting news is an opml browser. where's mine? how do i do that? come on... give it up! i want some of that! whoa. i updated this post with a right click to add a link to today's outline and now i've got an escher like effect going on. trippy. i guess this would be called inclusion looping? Click here to access the object that's linked to this item. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

ps - you see that little orange xml button that points to today's outline? i want that button on every single page of my opml editor blog so that the outline behind the day is instantly available. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

i want to create a wordpress theme that is a window with two halves. the top half would contain my latest wordpress post. the bottom half would have my top level directory ready to expand/contract and act as an index to all my stuff on the web. so, you read my latest thought and are invited to dive in to any/everything donovan. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

all outlines. all the time. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

now i'm adding those coral reef report outlines to my top level directory. the fun never ends with opml. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

i wish i could point to a folder and have an outline generated with links to everything in that folder. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

how i use dan mactough's ftp upstream script Permanent link to this item in the archive.

so, now that my articles.opml file has links to all of the articles on coral reef report, i quickly grew tired of making a change to the outline, saving it, and then the ugly part, ftp'ing the outline to my server. egad.

look, over there! it's dan mactough and another one of his magical opml scripts. this one is called ftp upstream and it said to me, "silly human.. why are you still uploading files the old fashioned way? for opmlPete's sake, just install dan's script and start saving your outlines, even those for your non-opml blog sites, in your OPML:www folder. i'll take care of uploading it to the server for you so you never have to use that mean old ftp application again."

thanks, ftp upstreaming genie! you are swell and you save me from yet another step.

now i just edit my outline and save it (make sure it's in the OPML:www folder somewhere so that the script can send it on it's merry way!). that's all! my wordpress pages look to the opml folder on my ftp server, which is where the script uploads my outline.

if yabfog is full of gas, it must be some hi grade shit.

Ala TechCrunch, all the articles on Coral Reef Report are now available in opml format. and thanks again to dan mactough's mighty opml renderer plugin, i can add the outline to my web pages like this articles top level page. Permanent link to this item in the archive.
