The team had a meeting yesterday about our energy requirements. You see, we're going solar. We are early in the planning stage so not much to report on right now. Sprocket has been crunching some numbers, and plans to release some more information on this team decision in the near future.

For now I can report that mereley researching solar energy as a driving force behind our upcoming adventures is exciting. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when we are actually tapping into the sun's rays for our daily electric fix.

Current estimates for a desireable solution are around $2500 for two panels, four batteries, a controller and a monitor. "Sprocket" I said, "let's see if we can bring that down in price some, eh? Are there any incentive programs for this kind of thing? How about used? Ebay?"

The team has been pouring over The Adventures of Tioga and George, starting from the very beginning. It's been such a pleasure to read about their travels. As always, I am so inspired by his team. Looking back through the archives has revealed that George has done some deep thinking and questioning about some fundamental issues concerning national land and our usage rights.

This area is Crater Lake National Park. The feds do not like people camping in "their" national parks, except in places designated by them. We folks who ride in Tioga, do not want to camp in "those" places. So, we looked around Crater Lake, took our pics, and moved north out of the Park.

Then, his refrigerator, Mr. Dometic added, "Why is it OK for us to camp in a National Forest but not OK for us to camp in a National Park?" Good question, Mr. Dometic. Daisy and The Go! Team would like to know as well.

A few hundred years ago, it was common place for folks to travel the country in wagons drawn by horses. Now it is illegal in many places to simply stay the night in your wagon, or automobile, or RV, or tent. We must all strive to live in houses in order to be good Americans, I guess. Stray from this norm and you shall be punished. Or fined. Or sent away... to where? Well, those who would shoo you away do not care where you go as long as it is _away_ from them. How is that for illogic? It's a double standard if ever I saw one.

The lentil soup mix I had started well over an hour ago is sending out wafts of beckoning scents that I cannot resist. I will return to writing after I am well fed.

Mmmmm! That was delicious! I mean, del.icio.us!

The loud sound of a jet overhead steals the show here in my little space. It's almost gone now but it certainly has left it's daunting, interptus self fresh in our minds. Sprocket awoke from his charging slumber and glanced at me with a worried screen.
