Looked at an '82 Lazy Daze 22'er today in Norco, CA. Ack! It needed plenty of work, let me tell you. Asking price is $3800 but I wouldn't pay $1500. Papasan confirmed and agreed. We did give it a good looking over though as this is my first hands-on experience with a Lazy Daze. The Team has been maniacally researching LDs and our brains are overflowing with factoids but the chance to climb atop, inside and around an actual LD rig was satisfying. Even in it's neglected state, it's quite obvious that Lazy Daze makes quality a priority. Now I know a few things. 1. Spend more up front for a rig in much better condition. 2. I want an '86 or newer model in order to get the one-piece aluminum roof. 3. Armed with my used guide purchasing list courtesy of Andy Baird, I can more confidently and knowledgeably look over a vessel to assess it's condition and the amount of money I might have to put into her. 4. Time is on my side. 5. Patience is a virtue.

Research, research, research

Here's some facts I've learned while researching Lazy Daze RVs which pertains sort of to my situation. In other words, this is not a complete changes list or anything like that.

Starting with the 1985 models, these features were new:

*Dark anodized aluminum frames adopted

*Fiberglass spare tire cover adopted

*2 Trojan 6V T-105 golfcart batteries adopted

*GM diesel option

Floorplans:

22 TK Payload- 2743 lbs. Gas- ? Fresh- 58 gal. Gray- 17 gal. Black-23 gal. Propane- 10 gal.

1986 and later LDs have a one-piece aluminum roof.

Starting in 1986, they also stopped making th 18' and the 20', leaving only the 22'. Then, in 1998, they added the longer coaches, 23.5' and 26.5'.

Electronic ignition came along in 1990.
