Arleme Blum's enewsletter arrived this morning. Arleme is the ultimate adventurer and publisher of her book Breaking Trail: A Life of Explorations. Arlene and her daughter Annalise recommend ICA Language School in Guatemala for those who desire to learn Spanish.
If you want to learn Spanish in a stimulating environment, consider studying at ICA in Xela Guatemala, as Annalise and I recently did. For $150 per week, we had five hours a day of excellent private instruction, lodging and all meals with a fun-loving Guatemalan family, and lots of interesting activities to learn more about the country and contribute to the highland communities.
Last year I went to Guatemala by myself and had a wonderful, if short-lived, time. How wonderful it would be to return to that wondrous land and learn Spanish from a caring family, all the while learning about the country and participating in various activities. I'm thinking that a firm grasp on the Spanish language would open doors for me that I never dreamed possible.
