Hanging with the LoriBug right now. Point Richmond style. Lunch and shenanigans. Saw my kitty Tamala today and that was nice. Tomorrow I might go to Santa Cruz with Vann to get his new Vanagon Carat. Then I start house-sitting for Dana and John. Got my passport today! Niko is still hanging in there, though the coolant reservoir was bone dry. The bigger coolant tank is totally full so go figure. Time to eat some lunch and then figure out where I'm going to sleep tonight. All in a day's boondocking.
Vann, my good bud, is buying a Vanagon Carat tomorrow. Another joins the club. Hoorah! He's full of good links like this one for Window Armor. I'm going to continue to update my blogroll with good Vanagon type links. Look on the right hand side of this journal for the links.
The San Francisco Auto Repair Center offers classes for people to learn how to do basic auto repair and then you can rent out their garage for $1/hour. Wow. Sign me up. I'm a moron when it comes to cars and it's time to get informed.
After the theft of all of my stuff, the scumball used my cell phone to call this number: 415-xxx-xxxx. I just got the cell phone bill so was finally able to find out who they called before I cancelled the phone. Verizon refused to give me that number even though I reported my phone stolen. Thanks, Verizon! Anyhow, I called the number and got a machine recorder. And now I feel as though the theft just occurred five minutes ago. Strange how things can resurface as intensely as though it just happened, isn't it? Again, writing helps me move through this stuff. It's so frustrating to know that the person who stole my stuff knows this person and felt inclined to call him up, probably to gloat about the stolen goods or to offload them, and there is nothing I can do about it. So close, yet so far away. Update: The person called me back as my number must have shown up on his caller ID. I told him why I called, trying to find my stolen laptop. He said he didn't know anything about my laptop and good luck finding it. I said Thanks and hung up. Time to move on.
Back to the Vanagon and away from stolen laptops. Eck! OK, so my Vanagon needs new ball joints. Vann found this link which explains how to replace them. I'm only a few tools and a garage away from working on my own ride. Taking your Vanagon to the Buslab is for rich people. I ain't rich so I gotta learn to do this stuff myself.
