The time. 8:10am. Coffee shop. Mission district. You may or may not be asking yourself, what is Donovan doing *awake* at this hour? He's waiting for the front brakes to be installed on Niko. Two days ago he laid down almost 700 bills to have the rear brakes installed. Hopefully he'll be able to stop after this. Literally.

The Latte he's pouring down his throat is perhaps one of the worst he's had in the Bay. But the weather is very nice so he doesn't mind.

Many of Donovan's friends are at Burning Man. Donovan is not. This year he stays away. It's good to take time out.

Donovan's thinking to himself right now, "I can't wait until that woman on the comfy couch with the window seat leaves so I can deposit my bad self in her wake." Alas, she's pecking away and placing calls like she owns the place.

Still no power and even less wi-fi. Of course stopping power comes first but I sure would have liked to have spent that $1000 on a solar panel and battery system instead. I guess it's time to call a temp agency and get my buttajob.

Manpower Staffing Services not only places people in temp jobs, they also train people.

Though I've been off of the computer more than I have in the past twenty years or so, it seems that little by little I am returning to this Digital Life. This time it's going to be different though. I will strike balance. I will.

My laptop is an older model with less power but it still gets the job done. My mobile phone, a Pocket PC, is probably more powerful of a computer than my laptop. Heh. I still don't have anytime, anywhere net access but I'm making due with wi-fi hotspots.

My clients are requesting more work slowly but surely. Life is waves. I'm looking forward to getting some work done and making some cash again. Life without it is challenging. Show me the dough!

Dave Winer is on a BlackBerry bender. YoMoBlog is his latest creation. I like it. I don't have a BlackBerry but I do have a Pocket PC, which should work with this just fine.

I've been considering what direction to take my web business, Getting Sites Built. As the name portends, that's a rather broad biz plan. Where to focus the beast? Perhaps portable friendly sites? I like it. If your site doesn't look good on a mobile device, it should.
