Right on. I just re-subscribed to KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic podcast and the first podcast to arrive features my fav new band Camera Obscura.
Squible, my favorite WordPress theme was updated to Beta 2 at the end of June. I missed the announcement. Look for the update to appear on all of my blogs, except this one, soon.

Hube update 
As you know, I'm looking to get Hube the Cube up and running again. First, I turn to CubeOwner Portal. From there I discover the OWC CubeOwner Specials page. I don't see the part I'm looking for. Must dig deeper. Update: I believe the part I must replace is called an Apple Cube G4 Board DC to DC card or Power Board or VRM (Manufacturers ID: 820-1152-A ). A refurbished one is $170. A new one is $290. I hope this is the only thing wrong with Hube. I've also been wondering if the latest OS X is going to work on this machine. When you add an accelerator, all bets are off.
The DC-DC card (also known as the Power Board or VRM) attaches to the Motherboard and is used to step down the incoming 28 volts from the external power supply to 12V, 5V, and 3.3V for use by the various components in the Cube
There were none for sale on eBay. Update: There is one and currently it is listed for $69. I think I'll wait a few days before ordering one of the refurbished ones to see if I can get this one cheaper. I visited all the other online stores recommended by CubeOwner and ended up asking only two vendors for price and availability.
The first Burning Man report is in. I talked to Vann last night. He purchased a Vanagon a week before the burn and had a good old time camping in it on the playa. He hung out in the Vann with friend(s) most of the time and was very comfortable. He said it was unlike any previous burn just because his living quarters were so darn comfy.
thoughtCast trademark
For a few months at the beginning of this year, I created some podcasts and I called them thoughtCasts. It was just for fun and not for profit. They are all online and I'm very proud of them. Last night I got an email from Jenny Attiyeh telling me to stop using that name because she has trademarked "ThoughtCast" and "thoughtcast" is confusingly similar to hers.
Dear Donovan,My name is Jenny Attiyeh, and I produce ThoughtCast, a podcast and public radio interview program. I am writing to let you know that I have obtained the trademark for "ThoughtCast". (I am attaching a PDF of the relevant info on the USPTO site.) Now that you are aware of this, in future please come up with another name for your podcast. As you can see, your use of the term "thoughtcast" is confusingly similar to my registered trademark, and is potentially harmful to my program. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Onward. I will not let Jenny "ThoughtCast Trademark" Attiyeh and her curious email screw up my day. The fact that you can fill out a form, get some silly stamp that reserves a word just for your use, and then fire off an email to someone like me telling me to stop using that word is assanine.
