Start here
Business cards. I've made a point to stock my wallet with biz cards and I've given out more of them in the last week than I have in the past year. I'm getting faster at recognizing the opportunity to tell the people I run into that I am a web developer and here's my card. 
Tomorrow, I've got to catch the 8:30am BART to Powell Station in order to arrive at 9:15. To make good time from the house to the station, I will take Iron Horse Regional Trail. I was considering riding the Gravity board, my 5 foot skateboard. Impressions are important, especially the first time they are encountered and I'm not so sure I want to walk into an interview with a skateboard in tow. That means I've got to give myself a solid 40 minutes to walk to the BART station even if it only takes me 20 minutes in reality. I will not be late so trip planning into the city from Pleasant Hill must be taken seriously. Fortunately, the BART site is pretty good at helping me get to where I've got to go. Oh, and it's going to cost me $4.40 each way. I wouldn't even consider driving my van into the city in morning traffic. No way, no how. That's one huge reason I love living in the Bay; public transportation.
As I house-sit, my sole purpose this time 'round is to water the plants and take care of Mushu, a three legged-cat that sleeps with one eye open. An eye that watches me with eternal conviction.

Co-working. 
Have you heard of it? You see, Geeks like me get tired of working from coffee shops and working from home can get lonely. The solution? Co-working. Pay to work in a shared office/lounge space like the Hat Factory per month or by the day. Work with your peers in a comfortable environment.
I'm trying to do something different here in the Bay. This is part of that different approach. We'll see if it makes sense for me or not.

Three festivals in one week. Art & Soul in Oakland, Art & Music Festival in Pt. Richmond, and the Solano Stroll. Lots of sun this weekend and even more social interactions.
Monday marks the first day of the week and I'm inclined to plan things. The cube part I won on eBay should arrive before week's end, I'll be sitting in on an ESL class as an observer, time to call Alive & Well! to do some massage clinic hours, gotta mail off those laptop chargers to Vincent, of course there is web work to be done, calendar fine-tuning, GRID Alternatives interview, Vanagon Shenanigans and more.
