The walk to BART took about 1/2 hour so I was quite early for my meeting with the good folks at GRID Alternatives today. I just hung out in the early morning sunshine on some street in downtown San Francisco, watching all the people rush by on their way to work in order to pass the time.
The interview went well. Let's put it that way, and then I left. A bagel in the Embarcadero on the grass and then I used one of the free public toilets that is basically a large green adobe for one right on the sidewalks of the city. Press a button, the door opens, and you've got your own very large dwelling all to yourself in prime real estate country. For twenty minutes. And then you have to emerge and face the world, giving up your throne to another passerby.
I should start my own non-profit called LIFE Alternatives. I'm currently living the curriculum and perhaps one day I'll share it with others. For now, this journal will have to do.
After the meeting, I headed over to Berkeley to mail some stuff and I stopped into Fertile Grounds Cafe where the wi-fi is free, the drinks spectacular and the vibe is suitable and bright. Today I was surfing on my Pocket PC with bluetooth keyboard, by far the smallest computer in the joint when a woman walked over to me, queried me about my little device and we then had a conversation about so many interesting things. She was so interesting! Once again, I ended up giving her my business card as she left. She complimented me on my business name, Getting Sites Built. That felt good too. Wow, a real conversation with someone in a coffee shop. That's good as I don't want to be just another coffee shop zombie.
Ran into SuzyBee today. Suzanne was my roommate a few years ago. She's always bright and positive. Literally glowing. We walked a few blocks in Berkeley together, briefly capsulized the last few years into digestable capsules, hugged and then parted ways.
And now, thumpin' mixes by ViaJay. Due listen.
