Friends, Mods Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Tonight I dined with my fine friends, Shaina and Nick. The fare was del.icio.us and the company quite entertaining. I laughed a lot. Starting soon enough, I'll be taking Yoga classes from Shaina. And Nick gave me an iBook! Too cool cats.

With the switch from my current iBook, a clamshell design, to the JediBook, I will gain on every count.. Mac OS X 10.3.9 will become 10.4.7, 466 MHz will become 500 MHz, 320 MB will become 384 MB, the screen resolution goes from 800x600 to 1024x768, and the best part is that there is no keyboard and the case has been modded by Nick and it looks awesome. Pix coming for sure.

Vanagons Again Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Vann just orderd up two auxiliary battery kits from Go Westy. One for him and one for me. Stand back, we're about to have loads of extra power for true mobile computing.

The battery: An Odyssey Drycell PC 1200.

Ok, so everyone wants a deep cycle battery that fits under the drivers seat of a Vanagon without messing around with cutting tools, hammers and shoe horns. Well, here it is. The Odyssey "Extreme Battery" is a rugged military grade Dry Cell design that packs a serious punch. With 1200 cranking amps and a 78 minute reserve capacity, it offers plenty of deep cycling power for all your accessory needs.

To all non-Vanagon owners of the world.. you don't know what you are missing. Of all the cars I've ever owned, I think Niko, my Vanagon, is the best.

GoWesty, an awesome Vanagon vendor, maintains an online Library.

Of mobile rivers and evolution thereof Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Dave Winer is sparking discussion on the evolution of mobile rivers. More than ever, I'm interested in this mobile talk as I'm using my Pocket PC Verizon mobile phone with wi-fi to surf the net while I'm on the go. It's so nice to just leave the laptop behind and know that if I need to stay in touch or surf some sites, that I can do so with a gadget I'd be carrying anyway. My phone.

The next step in this evolution, as Dave sees it, is for the links that one clicks on to take the reader to another mobile page for the results. You see, it's one thing to read a river of news in an easily readable, mobile format. It's quite another to find interest in one of said links, click on it for the story and there goes your high. You are back in the web world that is designed for non-mobile devices. Once we're in mobile mode, let's keep it that way.

Morning Offering Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Morning y'all. Still waiting on my VRM board for my Cube to arrive. The eBay seller says he shipped it but I haven't seen it nor has the USPS tracking site seen it. Hmph.

I'll be bartering for a site for my friend Shaina. She's a fire dancer among many other talents and will be my yoga instructor in exchange for a site for her fire theater troupe. Time for yoga to become a regular part of my everyday life. I wish our society wasn't run by dollars. It should be run by bartering. Imagine how much more we would all have if we bartered for everything we did!
