why do i like coda so much? it's one stop web development on the mac. the interface is beautiful, sparse, and i don't have to switch from application to application just to make a change to a web page.
i've been using coda a lot in the last two days and i am absolutely hooked. it is perfect for my needs. anyway, something struck me just now, a thought that's always been in the back of my mind since my early exposure to Frontier. i wish Frontier/Radio/OPML Editor had a pretty interface.
There, I've said it. Yes, that flies in the face of it's lean, screw-you-mac-interface-guidelines attitude. But come on, this is still a programmer minded environment. Daunting to the newbies.
Imagine if there was a Coda like interface just for OPML Editor. Maybe even focused on just the Community weblog stuff and some Tools. Hide everything else.
Now, build a good looking Mac OS X client (sorry Windows users, this is *my* dream) and hook into the Editor. This is where I wish my grafix skills were decent so I could throw together an example of what's in my mind. Basically, I'm talking about adding a custom designed front-end on the OPML Editor. I've seen others do it with a browser interface for Radio UserLand but I'm tired of web interfaces all of a sudden. How about some focus on the client?

The OPML Editor Docs mention nothing about how to install a fresh copy of OPML Editor and then integrate your existing OPML Editor data. how do i perform a clean install of OPML Editor and keep my last few years of posts? ![]()
I just took the Web Design Survey that is found on A List Apart. It's good to know that folks are compiling information like this. It should help fine-tune our understanding of the Web Professional Industry.

Even though I am fully up to date, I don't get a Twitter button. Others do. I don't. How to fix? I don't know. Neither does anyone from the community though I sure do appreciate their efforts in helping me track this down.
So, today I think I'll dig around the web and hopefully figure out how to start over. The trick will be to keep all my data intact of course.
